WHAT IS YOUR GOOD NEWS, PETER? (FORGIVENESS)

This morning I want to underscore that the Gospel, the Good News, Jesus came to preach and teach affects each of us differently because each of us is unique (Mk 1:14-15).
For Peter, the Gospel was a message of forgiveness that can be shared far and wide (Matt 16:13-19.
It was the forgiveness that Jesus encouraged us to live out in his famous prayer (Matt 6:9-15).
How often are we to forgive? Not seven times as Peter thought, but seventy-seven times (Matt 18:15-22)
Despite Peter’s 3 time denial of Jesus (Matt 26:31-35, 73-75), Peter was forgiven and reinstated as a caregiver (Jn 21:15).
We wonder how Peter responded to Paul’s blistering attack in Galatians (Gal 2:11-13a).
Maybe like Jesus in acceptance and forbearance? (1 Pet 2:23)
