WHAT IS THE GOOD NEWS ABOUT LITTLE CHILDREN?

This Sunday on Mother’s Day,  I would like to talk about a subject that mothers by and large already know full well: What is the Good News about little children as we examine 1 Thessalonians 2:1-7. Paul emphasizes that in his ministry, he has sought to be like a little child not an august leader…a quality that Jesus also commends in various ways:
Matt 21:14-16 From the mouths of infants and children come praise
Matt 19:13-15 He invites little children to come to him
Matt 18:1-4 Children exhibit the greatness of God’s kingdom
Matt 18:5 Whoever welcomes a child welcomes Jesus
Indeed, children need the insights and understandings little children give to us…and likewise, as a nursing mother we need to care for the little children, especially the broken little children inside of each of us (1 Thes 2:8).
