“NOT MY WILL”

I suppose nothing could be more helpful in discovering how to break through to the Other Side than to look at the prayers of Jesus as he approached the cross. And certainly one of his most important prayers was simply“Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done.” Lk 22:42
I don’t think we can underscore enough how important our search to determine the will of God (Matt 7:21-23). And maybe the best place to start in that search is Jesus model prayer (Matt 6:9-13).
The Apostle Paul sums up that search by the challenge to offer our bodies as a living sacrifice (Rom 12:1-2). Then he calls us to rejoice, pray, and give thanks as an expression of that offering (1 Thes 5:16-18).
Fortunately for us, God never demands perfection…only trust…our path to redemption.
