February 19, 2012: Follow Jesus Into the Darkness of the Cross
I like the idea of following Jesus into the fullness of life. But having to by way of the cross to get there seems disconcerting at best. Yet, this appears to be the only way. Unless we suffer and die with him we will not rise and be glorified with him.

Follow Jesus Into the Darkness of the Night

See Who You are Called to Be and What You are Called to Do
Some of us feel like we have been rejected, sort of discarded in the game of life. Each of us has certain cards that we would love to get rid of ourselves. But it is these discards that Jesus is most interested in using. By bringing these cards close to cross, they begin to reflect the glory of God and shine his light into a world in need of hope.

See Where You Have Been and Where You Are Going
We live in a world that is permeated by the darkness of a lie... that we can become happy if we only attain something that we don't currently possess... and this lie plunges us into a type of spiritual darkness. Jesus stands in contrast to this darkness as the light of the world... and he invites us to shine his light into the areas that have become dark in our own lives.
