Street Church is a ministry under The Lamb House, Inc. (non-profit 501c3 organization) of Newport News, Virginia. Our focus is to hit the streets with the Gospel primarily through street worship and meals. Currently, we have been working with the low income families at Harbor Square Apartments in downtown Hampton.
Street Church is a collaboration of many local churches and ministries of various denominations that are Kingdom minded and willing to reach out beyond the walls of their church buildings. We have united together to be The Church with the purpose of advancing the Kingdom of God. We have moved from the pew to the pavement!!!
Street Church is an event that occurs every Sunday evening at 5:00 pm, rain or shine, at Harbor Square Apartments (101 Lincoln Street). Anyone and everyone is invited and welcome to come eat and worship with us. We worship with various local Christian artist providing various genres of Christian music and various speakers to share the Word. Many churches are there every Sunday represented by their folks and pastors. Physical and spiritual needs are being met every week.
Street Church has something for everyone. We even have a team of folks that have started Sidewalk Sunday School for the kids every week and another team planning Vacation Bible School right on the apartment campus for the first week in August, followed by two camping trips for the kids later in the month.
Street Church is merely the body of Christ reaching out to those in need. The results thus far are nothing short of miraculous as the Church starts to act like the Church and ‘not’ play church. He is working wonders simply through our obedience to “go and make disciples…”. To God be the glory, and only God!
