Leadership
Lead Pastor

Tom Andrews (E-mail)

I grew up outside of Washington, D.C., and enjoyed many privileges that a good family and many friends can bring. But undoubtedly, the greatest gift I received was an early understanding of the importance of being connected with Jesus. Since I was ten-years-old I have had this bed-rock conviction that life centers around the forgiveness and love of a compassionate God. This understanding helped stabilize my teenage years during the turbulence of 1960's and 70's.

I attended college at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia, but the core of my life revolved around sharing my faith with hundreds of teens in varieties of settings, large groups, small groups at retreats and in back yards--teens in search of answers but finding few solutions. It was during this period that I became convinced I needed further training for I was destined to go into full-time service for Christ.

Missions Zone

Advocate: Tom Andrews (E-mail)

Missions plans to take a holistic approach to missions so we will focus on helping people take advantage of their daily opportunities to model Christianity and help the people around them become more familiar with Jesus. Short term missions opportunities with Orphan Helpers or other local organizations will be scheduled to help people grow in this area. We encourage the HarborPointe community to be tuned in to God’s prompting for “missions” activities in their daily lives.

Next Generation Zone

Advocate:  Tracy Cole (E-mail)

We believe the children of HarborPointe have been placed in our ministry by the hand of God. The Children's Ministry takes seriously the opportunity God has given us to impact their lives for Jesus. Aswe teach children the following biblical truths, we will love each child unconditionally just as Christloves each one of us. We believe it is important for children to love God. We teach them to live lives that are pleasing to God. We desire for the children to love Jesus, their Savior. The Scriptures lovingly describe how parents would bring their children to Jesus for Him to bless and how Jesus said we must become like little children if we are to enter the kingdom of heaven (Matthew 18:3). It is a privilege for us to share with children that Jesus is the Son of God and the biblical stories of Moses, Daniel, and many others. We also want them to love the Bible. Children learn that the Bible is the Living Word of God, the absolute truth and the standard by which they should live.
