At the heart of HarborPointe's mission are the small group gatherings we call Refuge Groups. These weekly fellowships of people provide an opportunity for in-depth relationship building and the study of God's Word. Meetings are held at a variety of times and places and designed for a variety of needs and social settings. We are continually looking for new members to connect and for new groups to emerge. All it takes is a leader committed to getting to know Jesus better, a plan of study, and an appropriate meeting time and place. We pray that each of these groups will truly become a refuge of hope-a safe place to give and receive the comfort, encouragement, and joy of Jesus Christ.

Propel is excited about the challenge of our new study. We each share a simple statement of what we believe about the topic of the evening. After reading selected scripture, we then spend time in open discussion on how those scriptures have changed, modified, or deepened what we believe. Our focus will be on one thing, sin. We will start within ourselves. Galatians 5: 22-25 would be a good point of reference to summarize this sin, our thoughts, beliefs, and actions antagonistic to the Fruit of the Spirit. These are planks in our eyes and have to be removed before our adventure continues. Then we head into cultural sin. The sin described in Galatians 5:19-21 are usually what come to our mind when we think of sin. My prayer is that once we have our own heart in line with the wisdom of the Holy Spirit we shall see this sin for what it is. We will end our sin study with a DVD study on spiritual warfare. The only way to be effectively protected is to fight sin with the full armor of God. Many Christians think demons don’t exist or they think every bad thing is from the hand of satan. This is due to ignorance and fear. We are each somewhere on the line between ignorance and fear. The Holy Spirit will provide the wisdom to slice that thinking right down the middle.
If you are a young adult, somewhere around 20 -35, we'd love to have you join us! Tuesday evenings 7:00, 53 Ridge Wood Drive, Hampton. Contact Sheila Hollis for more information. |

Aroma's Men's Lunch Group |

For the past few years some men have gathered faithfully,
usually weekly at Aromas in City Center, Newport News. They have opened up
their lives around 2 basic questions: “How is it with your soul? And "How can we
pray for you?” And then they pray intensively for one another. They meet every other Thursday. Contact Pastor Tom Andrews for specific meeting dates.
